'The Real Italia' with Kirstin Kelly
Saddle up for an unforgettable Italian adventure,
Enjoy private riding lessons, curated excursions, and super fun in the Kiwi/Italian style
Itinerary Highlights
Horse riding lessons tailored to you. For most people, it's about fun and confidence building; others want to challenge themselves by jumping quality, brave 1.30m jumpers. No matter the driver, I ensure you come away from your rides feeling a sense of achievement and progress.
Our excursions include "off the tourist path" as well as the "must-sees" of Italy, all selected to enjoy the Italian culture, meeting for aperitivo while watching the sun set over the skyline of Rome, Gradara castle, or the cliffs overlooking the Adriatic.
Whether it's biking, driving vespas, diving off a launch on the Adriatic sea, or marvelling at the ancient Duomo and Palazzo, we organize all the details, you just grab your breeches, boots, and walking shoes, some fun outfits, and start dreaming of the "La Dolce Vita' which translates to a lifestyle of pleasure, indulgence, and enjoying the finer things in life.
Sample Itinerary
Day One- Meet in Rome, settle in at the apartment located centrally to the sights. Go out for Aperativo/Dinner and watch the sun set over the incredible skyline of Rome.
Day Two- Up and about to visit the sights with our guide Rebecca, before the city wakes and the heat starts. Full day taking in the sights, shops, and history of the "eternal city".
Day Three- Leave Rome in our private van and stop at Assisi or a river swim on route to Pesaro. Settle into the Villa in Pesaro and enjoy drinks beside the pool.
Day Four- Meet the horses and have your first riding lesson (first thing in the morning, to beat the heat). Enjoy free time at the Villa until we go to the Medieval castle "Gradara".
Day Five- Second riding lesson, followed by walking around the lovely seaside town of Pesaro, which has beautiful beaches, fabulous shopping, and an abundance of eateries and cafes. Finish the day at a family-run Vineyard on the cliffs overlooking the Adriatic sea that only the locals know about.
Day Six- Third riding lesson, followed by a relaxing lunch around the pool before our local chef arrives to teach you how to make pasta and tiramisu, which you will then enjoy under the wisteria-covered balcony at the villa.
Day Seven-Spend the day on a boat on the Adriatic Sea, with local wines and lunch on board
Day Eight-Jump aboard your E-Bike and explore the San Barolo National Park on easy sealed roads ( the road shuts for the morning so cyclists can enjoy the views with no traffic). Finish the day with a sunset hack.
Day Nine- Fourth riding lesson followed by a quick swim at the villa before heading to explore one of the best examples of a Renaissance castle, " Urbino".
Day Ten- Final morning in Pesaro, we will drop you at the train station to continue your travel or to return home.
As we keep the tour size small, this enables us to be flexible. We book lovely villas to stay at, so there are plenty of great spaces to rest and recharge, and also gives us the option of eating at home too.

Horse Riding
Depending on which tour you book, you will hack across Tuscan landscapes of vineyards and olive groves or meander alongside the stunning cliffs overlooking the Adriatic Sea in Marche.
Four mornings, you'll enjoy individual 30-minute lessons in Dressage or Show Jumping in a small yard in Pesaro.

authentic italian Apertivo and dining
We embrace the culture of taking time out to slow down and enjoy the moments around the dining table "alfresco".
The perfect way to form great memories, share special moments, and enjoy laughter is finishing each day watching the sunset over the Italian countryside, enjoying great wine and fresh, flavoursome food.

ancient Roman Architecture and art
Immersing yourself in the splendor of ancient Rome by gazing at breathtaking frescoes and sculptures crafted by legendary artists like Leonardo, Raphael, and Michelangelo is awe-inspiring. To wander through castles and structures that have stood for millennia, each a testament to the empire's grandeur and innovation . Iconic landmarks such as the Colosseum and the Pantheon in Rome showcase Roman architectural brilliance, while intricate mosaics and lifelike sculptures vividly capture the essence of their rich culture and mythology.
To visit both the medieval castle "Gradara" and the Renaissance castle at Urbino is magnificent, to walk around the rooms brimming with artifacts, and to be able to imagine the lives of emperors and dukes who once lived there is truly one of my highlights of visiting Italy.
What others loved about this tour

Honestly a trip of a lifetime It was a wonderful relaxed but fun atmosphere throughout. Met some wonderful people and also in my case - reconnect with some great past friends.
The horses were absolutely wonderful and catered to all of our needs and wants as riders. The social aspect was equally fantastic. Relaxing at the superb villa, to sight seeing and eating at fab restaurants.
Kirstin did all the hard work for us and it was so appreciated. What an awesome way to see Italy.
I honestly couldn’t recommend this tour more
PS - I might go again next year too

Fabulous holiday. From excellent accommodation, sight seeing, great company and of course the opportunity to ride a very experienced horse. Kirstin had it all sorted not a worry in the world for us. You could do as much or as little as you liked. I would love to do it all again.

Kirstin organised the whole trip to Italy which was so organised and great fun. i would never been able to do that myself as i wouldn’t know where to start. From riding fancy show jumpers and dining with friends and family of their equestrian owner at his private country estate , was a highlight. And that red wine was devine! There was plenty to absorb with all the historic castles dating back to the 13th century , Rome’ s Coleuseum was mind boggling and the odd dash to the Mall for some retail therapy made the whole trip exciting and kept you on your toes . Lots of laughter, lots of local food - especially when it’s made from scratch by a local Italian chef kept the taste buds on alert and lots of down time too in our villa pool made this trip one i will not forget in a hurry! Can’t wait till the next one Kirstin has in her sights…
